Happy Almost-February! 2025 has kicked off with some memorable winter weather, that’s for sure! I hope you and your family and friends are staying warm and finding peaceful ways to enjoy the quietness and stillness of the winter season!
Here at our home, we have been focused on finding the beauty of the “wintering.” Our family started a tradition awhile back that really began as a solution… The problem? We wanted more twinkly lights into the dark winter, even though the Christmas holiday has come and gone. So, the PriceLand Valentine’s Tree was created! Ornaments and multicolored lights (yes, Ben and I love that multi-colored vintage 1980’s feel!) come off of the artificial tree, and the tree gets restrung with red, white, and pink lights. We made ornaments out of delicate gold and red paper heart doilies, and a glittery pink heart serves as the Valentine’s “star.” (Do we also still keep our outdoor holiday lights on through January almost every year? Yes, yes we do! And our neighbors around us do too!).
A new way we are “wintering” this season is that we are making homemade bread (I know, with the sourdough trend we are late to this party!).
