If you’re anything like us, you’re feeling that summer is moving a bit too fast. Just make the days slow down, right?! In our family, we’re focusing on enjoying every bit of summer — even when the weather (the heat! The rain!) feels a little wild! Speaking of the heat, if you haven’t yet tried my favorite summer poolside treat — an ice-cold glass of prosecco with an Outshine coconut popsicle dipped right in — consider this your sign. It’s refreshing, fun, and honestly, just makes any day feel like a vacation! And don’t worry – if coconut is not your jam (even though it’s my favorite!) – any flavor works!
Lately, I’ve been soaking up the sunny outdoors in another way — by diving into a good book. The Women by Kristin Hannah has completely gripped me. It’s beautifully written and deeply moving, and it’s reminded me how many untold stories exist just beneath the surface of everyday life. Much like homes — and people. What are your favorite summer reads thus far? Please pass them along – I am always looking for the next great read!
On the home front, we’ve been battling a bit of a garden mystery. Our tomatoes — which were true “summer stars” for us last year — have been struggling this year. The culprit? Turns out, extreme weather like we’ve been having can really mess with soil pH. I learned that adding a bit more lime to the soil can help stabilize things — just a little reminder that small adjustments often lead to big improvements. Funny how that applies to more than just gardening.
That brings me to a mindset moment I’ve been reflecting on — a reminder from my mentor, Gary Keller that he offered while I was in Austin last week at the KW International Headquarters:
“Succeed through intentionality, not personality.”
At first, it made me pause. So much of life runs on momentum — showing up, doing our best, running the schedules, and hitting out marks. Yet this idea suggests that real progress — in anything we care about — comes when we slow down and act on purpose, not just instinct. It’s less about how we come across, and more about how we choose to show up, over and over again, with clarity and commitment.
I think some great reflective questions that are worth pondering on this idea are:
Where in my life could I be more intentional, even in small ways?
Are there habits I’ve outgrown, or routines I could realign with what matters most?
What would it look like to live this season not just by default, but by design?
Those questions don’t have to be answered all at once. But even noticing them – creating awareness – is a good place to start.
And maybe that’s one of the unexpected gifts of summer — a little more space to pause, notice, and gently recalibrate. Whether that’s in the garden, in a good book, or beside the pool with your favorite frozen treat in hand — I hope you’re finding a rhythm that restores you in this season of basking in the warmth and longer days.
As always, we are so grateful to be in relationship with you. Whether it’s chatting about real estate, summer gardens, beach reads, or various reflections and intentions — it’s a gift to be in community with people like you.
Cheers to Summer — prosecco popsicles and all!
